Mountain Conditions
Koyasan sits at approximately 800 m above sea level, so weather and temperature change quickly. Arriving early ensures more time to orient oneself before darkness, and better transport connections (most Limited Express trains leave Osaka Namba early morning).

Luggage
Kuroneko (Yamato Transport), to and from Koyasan Space is supported. Dispatch, receipt, and temporary storage are all handled by us. These services are highly reliable, so please travel light.

Combination Ticket (Shodo-Kyotsu-Naihaiken) ¥2,500
This ticket covers admission to five major tourist destinations or activities in Koyasan: (1) Jukai Ceremony at the Daishi Kyōkai Training Center, (2) Kongōbu-ji Head Temple, (3) Konpon Daitō Great Pagoda, (4) Kondō Hall, (5) Tokugawa Mausoleum. Tickets are on sale at the Koyasan Shukubō Association and at the small office opposite the Great Pagoda (near the great bell).

Clothing, Weather & Bears
Rainwear, warm outer layers, spare clothing, and a shoe dryer are available. Sudden rain, fog, wind, and cold are common, even outside winter. Regarding bears, check the current status at the Koyasan Shukubō Office before proceeding on mountain hikes.

Koyasan Opening Hours & Restaurants
By 4 pm, most temples, stores, cafés, and restaurants are closing. Restaurant hours are generally 11:30–14:00. Very few re-open in the evening. We recommend Izakaya Marutaka for lunch and evening meals, a five-minute walk from Koyasan Space.

Vegetarian & Monks’ Meals
Koyasan Space offers vegetarian or vegan breakfast by default. “Shōjin ryōri” (monks’ meals) are booked directly with the temple at least 24 hours in advance. Either Koyasan Special Head Temple Shōjōshin-in or Ekoin Temple:

Koyasan Fire Ritual
Daily at 1pm for approximately 2hrs, at Koyasan Special Head Temple Shōjōshin-in. Actual start time varies as does format and length; early arrival allows for writing gomagi (wooden offering stick for a goma fire ritual) and for quiet preparation before the ritual begins. On special occasions, the head priest conducts the ceremony and places may be limited. Photography and video are permitted. Please dress modestly and be respectful of other attendees.

山上の環境
高野山は標高約800mに位置しており、天候や気温は急変することがあります。早めに到着することで、特急列車などの交通接続が良くなり、日没前に到着でき、周囲の状況を把握する時間も確保できます。

お荷物について
高野山空では、ヤマト運輸（黒猫）による荷物配送サービス（高野山空への往復）に対応しております。お客様の立ち会いは不要で、発送・受け取り・一時保管はすべて当方で行います。非常に信頼性の高いサービスですので、身軽なご移動をおすすめします。

共通拝観券（諸堂共通内拝券) ¥2,500
高野山内の主要な5つの拝観・体験が含まれます。(1) 大師教会での授戒、(2) 金剛峯寺、(3) 根本大塔、(4) 金堂、(5) 徳川家霊台。高野山宿坊協会および壇上伽藍で販売されています。

服装・天候・熊について
雨具、防寒用の上着、替えの衣類、靴乾燥機をご用意しています。冬季以外でも、急な雨、霧、風、冷え込みは珍しくありません。熊に関しては、登山や山道を歩く前に、高野山宿坊事務所で最新情報を確認されることをおすすめします。

高野山の拝観時間と飲食店
午後4時頃には、多くの寺院、店舗、カフェ、飲食店が閉まります。飲食店の営業時間は概ね11:30～14:00で、夜に再開する店はほとんどありません。高野山空から徒歩5分の「居酒屋 丸高」は、昼食・夕食ともに特におすすめです。

精進料理・僧侶の食事
高野山空では、朝食は原則としてベジタリアンまたはヴィーガンでご提供しています。精進料理は、各寺院へ直接、少なくとも24時間前までに予約が必要です。清浄心院または恵光院をおすすめします。

高野山 護摩行
高野山別格本山 清浄心院にて、どなたでも自由に参拝できます。開始時刻は13時とされていますが、実際には前後することがあります。護摩木の記入や、開始前の静かな準備のためにも、早めの到着を強くおすすめします。特別な日には住職が導師を務めることがあり、その場合は定員が限られます。写真・動画撮影は可能ですが、他の参拝者への配慮を忘れず、静粛にお願いいたします。
